According to a report issued by the Department of Health and Human Services, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) screened more than 2,500 Americans for 148 industrial chemicals – and found significant amounts of these chemicals in the blood of every person tested. Not some people - everyone!

That's why today's sika virus news is so important. Studies show that sycamore used to help people with liver disease can provide significant protection against this modern scourge of environmental toxins. Sikavica can help with drug- and alcohol-related liver disease, viral hepatitis, and another serious problem of the 21st century: non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Keep in mind that NAFLD, which is reaching epidemic proportions in the United States, currently affects about 100 million Americans—and is the most common liver disease in children.

Key point: The liver is the most important detoxifying organ in the body

The liver regulates blood sugar and hormones, stores nutrients, and produces bile, cholesterol, and red blood cell components. But its most important tasks may be the isolation and neutralization of toxins – which are then passed on for elimination via the intestines. When the liver cannot effectively neutralize and get rid of toxins, they can accumulate in the liver and body fat or circulate in the bloodstream – eventually ending up in the bones, lymph or brain. The liver also contributes to detoxification by promoting the production of glutathione, the body's “master” antioxidant. Although every living cell in the body is bathed in glutathione, the liver contains more of this disease-fighting substance than any other organ or tissue. However, the body's supply of glutathione is not unlimited. If the liver's glutathione is completely overwhelmed—as occurs with an overdose of a toxic substance such as acetaminophen—liver failure (and possibly death) can occur. Acetaminophen overdose is currently the number one cause of liver failure in the United States.

How sycamore REDUCES the risk of liver disease

Silymarin, the active ingredient of sycamore, is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent that stimulates detoxification pathways, promotes liver cell regeneration, helps prevent liver scarring, and strengthens liver cell walls. These properties give it a useful application in the fight against liver diseases. For example, disease-fighting effects include blocking oxidative stress caused by viruses and lowering liver enzymes in cases of viral hepatitis. In a large observational study involving 2,637 patients with chronic liver disease, researchers found that silymarin significantly reduced the liver enzymes AST and ALT (elevated liver enzymes are markers of liver dysfunction). In a systematic review published in 2001 in Drugs, the authors reported that silymarin scavenges free radicals while inhibiting the pro-inflammatory 5-LOX pathway—and that it does so safely, with only rare side effects.

Sikavica tincture in sikavica tea can stop and even reverse toxin-induced liver damage

Over 900 different prescription and over-the-counter medications have been linked to liver damage. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average American contains up to 700 industrial chemicals – a staggering statistic. Sikavica, botanically known as Silybum marianum, can help here. Dioscorides – the legendary ancient Greek physician – famously advised the plant as a remedy for snakebite. Almost two thousand years later, his recommendation still stands. Recent studies have shown that silymarin prevents toxins from binding to cell membrane receptors – making it effective against a variety of carcinogens and biological toxins. In a review published in Phytotherapy Research, silymarin and silibinin (a type of silymarin) were found to protect against ethanol (a type of alcohol found in spirits, wine and beer), drugs, carbon tetrachloride and other solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, radiation and poisonous mushrooms. In a study published in 2009 in the International Journal of Biological Sciences, researchers found that a combination of garlic extract and silymarin helped reverse the harmful effects of NDEA, an environmental carcinogen. The team reported that garlic and fennel worked synergistically to significantly reduce liver toxicity—which they did by lowering elevated liver enzymes, restoring glutathione, and increasing levels of the natural antioxidant superoxide dismutase. One of the most striking studies involved 452 patients with mushroom poisoning. The group treated with silibinin had half the mortality rate (9.8 percent) than the conventionally treated group (18.3 percent). Finally, silymarin has been shown to significantly reduce liver-related mortality in patients with liver damage.

Silymarin alleviates NAFLD and improves cholesterol profiles in diabetics

In addition to protecting against drugs and chemicals, silymarin helps mitigate the damage from excess calories and carbohydrates. With the ability to prevent the accumulation of fat in the liver, sycamore extracts have been recognized in several studies as an inexpensive, non-toxic adjuvant for the regeneration of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. NAFLD, the presence of excess fat in the liver of patients with no history of alcohol abuse, can develop into nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, or NASH, which in turn can lead to liver cancer, liver failure, and death. Silymarin can also benefit diabetics. In one trial, 200 mg of silymarin—three times a day—lowered triglycerides and LDL cholesterol while raising HDL cholesterol.
Support liver health and proper detoxification with sycamore
Phytotherapists advise using a standardized formulation in the form of sycamore tincture, which is brewed in organic or wild-harvested sycamore tea.

Keeping your liver clean and healthy will really help your heart. One of the main functions of the liver is to maintain the balance between the amount of fat and cholesterol in the blood. Too much fat in the blood causes the blood to become thicker, which causes high blood pressure. By cleaning the liver, you promote its efficiency, the fat and cholesterol in the blood will return to the initial balance, facilitating the work of the heart.
