Latin name: Hydrastis canadensis
Characteristics by which it is recognized in nature: The plant grows 15 cm to 60 cm high, bears 2-3 large, unequal, alternate, terminal leaves, which are slightly hairy and rayed (each with 3 to 5 lobes). The stems above the ground are reddish, hairy and yellow below. The flower is single, small, white or pink in color with a fruit that looks like a raspberry. The fresh root or rhizome is short (about 5 cm long and 2 cm thick), with many root vessels, 30 cm or more in length; the crack is greenish-yellow, with broad core arms that extend from the woody center of the section. The plant has a very bitter taste; the smell is strong and unpleasant. It is harvested only in the fifth year.
Parts of the plant for medicinal purposes: Dried rhizome and root. The price of this root has always been unusually high, but if you need Canadian buttercup for some disease, do not try to replace it with other plants, they will not achieve the same results. Always use the plants you need, regardless of cost. Never use commercial colorless liquid extracts as they do not contain the necessary healing properties of the plant.
Medicinal properties: Tonic, laxative, alterative (mucous membrane), disinfectant, for eye diseases, antiperiodic, aperient, diuretic, antiseptic, agent for opening channels in the body (glandular system), cholagogue, antiemetic, sedative, hemostatic (uterus).
This is a powerful tonic for absorption problems; effectively strengthens the exhausted mucous membrane and any other tissue it comes into contact with, increases gastric secretion and bile flow, improves appetite and aids digestion. In some cases, it is a laxative, but without an astringent. It is particularly effective as a hemostatic of the uterus and is one of the few herbs that will tighten and maintain venous circulation. It is considered one of the best general healing agents in the entire plant world. With its medicinal effect, it is somewhere between rhubarb and red root. The Canadian buttercup was named after Thomson's successors, who used it extensively in the early 19th century in the USA.
Medical use: Chronic alcoholism, acute inflammation of the digestive system, acute inflammation, excessive secretion of bile, bronchitis, cancer, ulcers in the mouth and lips, catarrh of the digestive and excretory canals, catarrh of the mucous membranes, chronic dyspepsia, colds, chronic constipation. DR. SCHULZE'S FORMULA FOR CLEANSING THE SINUS
Dr. Schulze's herbal formula has been used for hundreds of years. They are basically plants in fine powder and sometimes with the addition of essential oil. I have made and used most of the sinus formulas in the clinic over the years they were for detoxification and drainage of the sinus cavity. One of my favorites was the 5 year or older Canadian buttercup root powder and Myrica cerifera bark powder, with very little Hbanero ljudte pepper (no salt) and very little organic garlic (not from China) in powder. This formula disinfects and detoxifies the sinus cavities. Take a small jar and put 7 tablespoons of finely ground Ljutić root and 7 tablespoons of fino very little Mirika powder Habanera and garlic they add intensity to the formula and the amounts should be judging by your ability to tolerate spiciness.
Shake the jar and mix the powder well and snort very little.
