Some time ago, a young student came to my office to ask for advice. He was in his final year of studies, but he couldn't make up his mind about the job he would do. We talked a bit, took a couple of tests and drew a profile of personal interests and abilities together. The results of his own integration were more than bad. His perception of his own personality was ill-defined. He just didn't know who he really was. He had no defined plans or long-term goals. He was like a ship without a rudder at sea, and without a port in mind.
I sent him home to think about his value system and asked him to come back the next week with a list of values that he felt were worth living under any circumstances. The following week he returned with the list, but his face showed a sense of deep concern. Everything on the list was crossed out. Handing it to me, he said: “This is terrible. I had to cross out my values because I couldn't see myself being occupied by them all the time. I left only two: sincerity and honesty, and on the way here I had to cross them out."
His problem was that he had no will to "become a man".

On another occasion, a young man approached me at the insistence of his mother. He was expelled from several schools and already had a suspended sentence for irresponsible behavior. We drew a profile of him – his strengths and his weaknesses – and talked about them. His eyes glazed over and strength filled his body when he saw the results. Then he said to me: "This is really me, isn't it - and there are really good qualities that come out of me, if only I would curb these few bad ones - man, they're really bad, aren't they? – but if I could just defeat them, I could become someone and something, right?” At that moment, the desire to "become a man" was born, and today he is an electronics engineer who continues to use his will to become what is good.

Will. What is that? What is her strength? And how to strengthen it?

Dr. William Sadler said: "The will is the sum of all positive mental activities, the sum of psychic choices and decisions!" Dr. Wilder Penfield, a world famous neurosurgeon said: "The will is the spirit of man." John Smith wrote: “The will is the supreme power which governs man's nature, and to which all other faculties obey. The will is not taste or inclination, but the power that decides in the sons of men."
"One who struggles should understand true willpower. It is the force that governs human nature - the force of decision, choice. Everything depends on the right move of the will. He chooses.
Desires for goodness and purity are correct, as long as they are expressed, but if we dwell only on them, they are of no use. All those who only hope and expect to overcome their inclinations will fail. They do not submit to God's will. They do not choose to serve Him. God has given us the power of choice, and it is up to us to exercise it.
We cannot change our hearts nor can we control our thoughts, urges and inclinations.
We cannot make ourselves pure. But we can decide to do what is right and then He will work through us that we can and will do it. Through the proper use of the will, a universal change can occur in life.
By submitting our will to God, we unite ourselves with the divine force.
We receive strength from above to remain steadfast. A pure and noble life, a life of victory over appetite and lust, is made possible for anyone who unites his weak, wavering human will with the almighty, unwavering will of God."

How to strengthen the will?

1. Practice making up your mind – making your mind positive, right after you've weighed the facts – and stick to it
of your decisions, ready to change them only when contrary facts challenge them. It is often better to make a mistake than to hesitate in indecision. Sometimes writing down a decision helps a person to stick to the decision they have made.
2. Finish the previous job before starting a new one. Don't jump from one thing to another and from one environment to another, going round and round all the time.
3. Sometimes games can help develop decision-making skills. I had a young patient who had a reputation among the hospital staff as an excellent table tennis player. But when I would play with him, he kept moving back and forth, hesitating to serve. Once he served, he could continue playing normally. Playing helped him make decisions quickly until one day he started serving with
with complete determination.
4. If you make an unintentional mistake, keep fighting.
5. Get out of bed at the time you set for yourself. Decide it at night and stick to it in the morning.
6. Read deeply and meaningfully and force your mind to understand and remember what you read. Overreading the emotional
imagination weakens the will.
7. The will is strengthened by practicing self-denial and self-control. Practice rejecting self-indulgence.

8. Connect your will with divine energy by asking God to strengthen your will.
9. Practice a healthy lifestyle with good nutrition, exercise and rest.
10. Learn to plan things in life, not impulsively.
If you find it difficult to put any of the above exercises into practice, start with the simplest ones until you do them completely
you overcome. Then move on to the next in weight and so on. If it is still too difficult for you, try talking to God about it and ask Him to strengthen you with His strength. When you strengthen your will, you will truly rule your life

How powerful is the will really?
The will is powerful. It is a powerful tool that controls the imagination and resists disease.
The mind and nerves strengthen tone and strength by exercising the will. Willpower is not valued as it should be. "Let your will be awake and correctly directed, and then it will transmit energy to the whole being and be a wonderful assistant in preserving health.
It is also a power that tackles disease.”
Be God's warrior who overcomes your weaknesses!!!
